Editorial: Don’t backpedal on e-bike safety

Coming off 2025 and its tragically high rate of road deaths, the state Legislature this session took the opportunity to push through meaningful, if not overtly progressive, traffic reform. A handful of key bills navigated successfully out of the House and Senate and are awaiting Gov. Josh Green’s approval — and one in particular, House Bill 2021 addressing much-needed statewide guidelines for electric bike ownership and operation, must be signed into law.
