With Madison Square Garden in New York emerging as the likely destination, Netflix is also understood to heavily favour an American staging. And Hearn launched a furious defence of his heavyweight star following George Liddard’s European middleweight title win at the Copper Box on Saturday night. He said: “What they want to do is they want to pay Anthony Joshua less money because that’s how it will work out with the difference in location. “They want him to do a load of additional stuff.” Hearn also made the shock claim that parts of Joshua’s deal have ALREADY been broken. He added: “And I’m not going to blow things up, which I could do so easily, but there has been breaches in AJ’s contract already, which we’ve let slide because these guys are our partners or were, or are, and our friends or were.” Most read in Boxing BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UK Tyson Fury claimed that Hearn and Joshua are being greedy for more money Credit: Bradley Collyer/PA Wire Reports have emerged claiming Anthony Joshua has yet to receive payment for his fight against Kristian Prenga. Hearn had also previously confirmed that Matchroom has outstanding balances owed by Riyadh Season and Sela related to their hosting of snooker and darts events with them. Hearn then accused people behind the scenes of feeding information to the media in a bid to make AJ and his team look like the problem. He said: “But there’s a game being played at the moment where some of you guys and a lot of people who aren’t in this room are being fed emails and information to try and dress things up to spin a narrative that’s just not true.” Hearn also claims Joshua is facing huge pressure to give in and accept the changes. He told iFL TV: “He’s under so much pressure. He’s got people phoning around the back, ‘Come on AJ. Oh, don’t do this. Oh, don’t do that.’ “And he’s going, ‘Speak to Eddie, mate. I know what I signed for. I want it in the UK.’ “He’s the one fighting for this fight in Britain more than anybody.” It comes after Fury took aim at AJ and Hearn and claimed they were demanding more money from Saudi boxing boss Turki Alalshikh. Fury suggested the fight was in danger and accused the pair of holding things up over cash. But Hearn’s camp insist Joshua is simply sticking to the deal he originally signed and that moving the fight from Britain would leave him worse off. Hearn has also made it clear that, as far as he is concerned, neither man – nor the parties staging the fight – can simply walk away.
