easyJet Cuts Flights: Full List Of 6 Axed Airports Revealed

He is based near London, UK. easyJet is Europe's second-largest airline for flights. On a typical day this year, Cirium Diio data shows that the low-cost carrier has 1,582 daily aircraft movements. While its offering has jumped by just over 1% year-over-year, flights remain down by 4% compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019. While flights are down, capacity is not. 105 million seats are available in 2026, which is at a record level. This is driven, in part, by the use of higher-capacity aircraft. 182 seats per flight exist, which is more than in any other year. This helps to improve cost per seat mile and competitiveness, along with revenue benefits. The new owner might be somewhat happy. easyJet Stops Flying To These Six Airports All airlines have route and airport churn; it is the nature of the business. Not everything will work, and changes must occur. easyJet is no different than any other operator. Ryanair, which is Europe's leading operator, recently removed 19 airports from its network. Cirium was used to identify easyJet's airports between January 2025 and October 2026. This list was when compared to where the LCC plans to fly between November 2026 and July 2027. This process identified that the following six airports have been removed or will cease seeing the carrier soon. Of course, this reflects what is known as of August 21. It is possible that other developments will materialize. Notice Harstad-Narvik, which is in northern Norway. It is renowned as a gateway to the northern lights, Arctic wilderness, and some of the country's most beautiful locations, such as the Lofoten islands. easyJet only began flying there in June 2025, with routes from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), which are among the airline's most-served airports. Flights from AMS ceased in August 2025, while those from MXP will do so in September 2026. No services are scheduled or bookable for 2027. It operates to Barcelona, Belfast International Airport (BFS), Geneva, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Paris CDG using non-based aircraft and crew. All destinations except BFS are served by other carriers, although Aer Lingus Regional flies from Belfast City using the ATR 72. It is perhaps not surprising that easyJet will pull out of LBA. After all, it is barely an hour away from Manchester Airport (MAN), which is the airline's fourth most-served facility by the number of departures and at which it ranks second overall. easyJet serves all six destinations from MAN and with many more flights easyJet has never been a large airline at LBA. In 2026, it only provides about 3% of the Yorkshire facility's services and is, therefore, only the fifth-largest operator. Ironically, it has far more departures in 2026 than in any other year to date. This is because flights launched to Barcelona, Malaga, and Palma last year, while it reintroduced its time-limited winter operation to Geneva. Departures jumped 20% compared to 2025. It'll consolidate at MAN, at which it has nearly one in four short-haul services. The IST Experiment Did Not Last Long Credit: Shutterstock easyJet debuted in IST in June 2023, initially operating from MAN, with that route ending in March 2026. The LCC competed directly with Turkish Airlines, although that carrier, of course, revolves heavily around sixth-freedom (connecting) traffic over its enormous IST hub. easyJet's second route to IST was from Bristol International Airport (BRS), with flights existing between November 2024 and March 2026. The launch of BRS flights marked the first time any nonstop services had been offered to Istanbul. UK Civil Aviation Authority data shows that 34,552 passengers were carried in 2025, for a load factor of 86%. This says nothing about fares and yields, which would have come under pressure from the arrival of Pegasus from Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SAW) in July 2025. In some ways, it is surprising that Turkish Airlines has not started flying from IST to BRS, although the carrier might say that it is too close to Birmingham and London Heathrow. The Star Alliance member has not even hinted that it'll do so, although it has stated its desire to fly to Glasgow and Newcastle. Qatar Airways used to fly to Cardiff. Wizz Air has confirmed that it'll cease flying from London Luton Airport (LTN) and London Gatwick Airport (LGW) to IST in October. easyJet previously flew to SAW. It did so between 2006 and 2014, with three routes: Basel, LGW and LTN. Some services from Switzerland even operated overnight, which is highly unusual for the operator. Now that easyJet has attempted to make Istanbul flights work twice, will it return in the future? Never say never, but the opportunity would have to be very compelling relative to what else could be done with the aircraft.
