Sign in to your XDA account You used to have to compromise with a laptop. And, to be honest, it was never really worth it, especially if you wanted a decent gaming setup. But that's no longer the case, with plenty of high-powered laptops being perfectly adequate for gaming. If you've been thinking about picking up something new, the Acer Nitro V with its 16-inch screen is going to be a good way to go. While it's normally priced at $1,700, it can now be had for much less thanks to a pre-Black Friday discount that knocks $750 off for a limited time. Acer Nitro V 16 $950 $1700 Save $750 Operating System Windows CPU AMD Ryzen 7 GPU Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 RAM 16GB Storage 512GB You're getting a ton of bang for your buck In addition to the large 16-inch screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, the laptop is powered by an Intel Core 7 240H chip and is paired with 16GB of DDR5 RAM. Now, we know that amount of RAM isn't exactly what you want in 2026, but times are tough, and manufacturers are forced to make cuts to keep prices affordable. The good news is that you can upgrade this laptop. So, if prices happen to fall in the future, you'll be able to add more RAM as needed. The laptop also comes with 512GB of SSD storage, which should be good for most people. Again, you can upgrade this amount when needed. That said, the Acer Nitro V packs a dedicated graphics card, using NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5050. This card wasn't praised when it launched as a standalone product, but we think it's more than capable and a solid choice for a laptop. The laptop also has plenty of physical ports: three USB-A, one USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There's a 1080p webcam and 4-zone RGB lighting for the keyboard. Again, the big focus here is the steep price drop ahead of Black Friday.
