Eagles sign RB Carson Steele, C Jake Majors to active roster

Published October 9, 2026 04:29 PM The Eagles’ long injury report led them to make a handful of roster moves on Friday afternoon. As previously reported, they have released quarterback Andy Dalton. Tanner McKee and rookie Cole Payton remain on hand as backups to Jalen Hurts. The Eagles signed running back Carson Steele and center Jake Majors to the active roster from the practice squad. They also placed defensive tackle Uar Bernard on the practice squad injured reserve list. Steele will help fill in for the injured Saquon Barkley. He ran 56 times for 183 yards while with the Chiefs in 2024. Majors joins an offensive line that was shaken up by Lane Johnson’s retirement and the trade of Cam Jurgens this week. They also ruled center Drew Kendall out with a knee injury, so Majors could be called into action against the Jaguars on Sunday.
