EA Is Finally Removing Clubs Online Trophies From FC 27

Niall also has a rich history covering triple-A releases, sports games, and PC hardware. For sports-loving trophy hunters, the FIFA and FC Platinum trophies have often been bogged down by one big inclusion: Clubs. This online-only game mode was hard to grind alone and required a team good enough to win games, and even trophies, regularly. This was often an instant sign that the goal likely wasn't worth the grind, especially given the time sink required to achieve other trophies in past games that demanded a lot of time being spent in the Ultimate Team game mode. With the release of the EA Sports FC 27 trophy and achievement list, we can see that this year's game drops all mention of Clubs trophies and appears to replace them with one from The Grounds, a new social hub that replaces the traditional Clubs experience, but is far less hardcore and way more accessible to casual players. FC 27's Platinum Trophy Is Extremely Achievable While one way to view the update to the FC 27 trophy list is that the iconic, if dreaded, Clubs trophies are still there, just under the moniker of The Grounds, it's very important to understand the differences in what's being asked of you as a player to achieve these trophies. In the Grounds deep dive, the mentor system was described as something solo players will want to explore. This is where you meet one of the three mentor athletes and complete their milestones. There are four to find; they are: Kylian Mbappé Paulo Dybala Alex Hunter Chloe Kelly Each mentor has three milestone objectives to complete, and there is a trophy tied to each one, apart from Dybala and Hunter's second milestone two objectives, curiously. While it's not yet clear what these objectives entail, if EA is pushing these as single-player-friendly in the deep dive, we can only assume that they aren't going to require the level of camaraderie as previous Clubs-related trophies. In previous games, you've typically needed to first win a Clubs match, then gain a promotion with your club, finish a playoff as the champion, reach the elite division, and then achieve several player-related milestones such as unlocking archetypes and specializations. According to PSNProfiles, only 1.78% of players achieved the Platinum in FC 26, with the average player only unlocking 16% of the trophies. This grind wasn't worth it for a lot of players who may be eyeing up the Platinum trophy for the game, and while EA Sports FC games are far from known for being easy to Platinum, to many, the grind felt unfair on top of everything else that was being asked. Now, with the changes to the trophy list, FC 27 feels like a very achievable Platinum (or 100% for Xbox players), and given the rise in trophy hunting on the platform, you have to wonder whether EA has this in the back of its mind when planning out the list of accomplishments.
