Dyson unveils a DOZEN new gadgets including hi-tech toothbrush, robot floor scrubber & enormous ‘quiet fan’

DYSON has dished out a DOZEN new gadgets at a special event this week – including a hi-tech toothbrush, a robot floor scrubber, and an enormous but “quiet” floor fan. Top Dyson engineers have been hard at work to deliver a dizzying array of new gear just in time for Christmas. It’s an electric toothbrush with a built-in camera that uses an AI system to spot gaps between your teeth. Sign up for the Tech newsletter Thank you! And then it uses mouthrinse stored in the toothbrush to blast the gaps like a liquid flosser, busting plaque as you brush. “We’ve always been very focused on the mechanical engineering of a product, spending decades honing the physical way that each machine performs,” sake chief engineer Jake Dyson, speaking at the event. “Now we have shifted from purely mechanical devices to intelligent machines that can see, think, and respond. “We’re using artificial intelligence, vision systems and machine learning to allow the machines to understand the environment they are operating in. “The approach is the same, whether it’s operating in your mouth, on your hair or around your home.” That’s not the only gadget on Dyson’s latest roster of products. Most read in Tech There’s the Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub, which is a robot clean that uses AI stain detection along with UV light to illuminate household spills – and cleans repeatedly to bust the stains. Then there’s the Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry, which is also a robot cleaner that uses slightly curved triangular pads that let the droid go right into corners. There’s the new Dyson W1 PencilWash, which is a bit like the ultra-thin PencilVac except (yes, you guessed it) it’s a wet cleaner that washes the floor. Next up is the Dyson HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde, which is Dyson’s biggest floor fan. It’s absolutely enormous, and blasts out impressive air flow relatively quietly – while purifying at the same time. And then there are new entries to Dyson’s haircare range. First up is the Dyson Corrale CoolShine, which uses flexing heat plates that promises to deliver your chosen hairstyle in “fewer passes”. There’s also the Dyson Airsmooth Hot Brush, which uses an anti-snag bristle that lets you “dry, smooth and lift hair with ease”. However, some gadgets are yet to have their pricing confirmed. And most are out this year, with the exception of the Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub and the Dyson V15 Konical Cordless Vac.
