Ahead of the polls, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has released its manifesto outlining its key promises for students.The manifesto is divided into four sections: Awas, Bhagidari, Vishwas and Parinaam. Riya Chhawadi will contest for secretary, and Lakshyaraj Singh has been named the candidate for joint secretary.Dabas, originally from Kanjhawala in Delhi, completed his graduation from Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi. He is an international-level tennis player and has participated in ITF competitions in Spain, Australia and Serbia.Maurya hails from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and completed his graduation from Satyawati College, University of Delhi. He has been associated with ABVP since 2021.Chhawadi is from Modband village in Badarpur, Delhi, and comes from a farming family. She studied at Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi, and is an inter-college-level basketball player.Singh, originally from Churu district in Rajasthan, completed his graduation in Political Science from Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi. An international-level handball player, he has represented India at the Asian Games and World Championship. He has also represented Rajasthan at the National Games and the University of Delhi at the National University Games.The DUSU elections will be held on September 18, 2026.
