Dusted – “Black Tattoo”

When Brian Borcherdt isn't busy with his main gig playing in the Toronto dance-rock crew Holy Fuck, he occasionally releases more intimate indie rock on his own under the name Dusted. Today, he's back with the new single "Black Tattoo," which he recorded live to vintage Tascam 388 with some assistance from Alex Edkins of Metz and Weird Nightmare on guitar."The recording took a few attempts," Borcherdt says. "With no click tracks used anywhere on this record, this particular performance wanted to speed off the rails. But each version landed faster than the previous. After some consideration, the first take won the band vote.""The song propels forward, expressing that line between control and abandon, betrayal and perseverance," he adds. It comes with a music video directed by Michael Leblanc featuring Borcherdt and his daughter making their way through the tunnels of the Toronto subway.
