One of the biggest breakout sensations of the last few years is Dungeon Crawler Carl. While Matt Dinniman's fantasy series started life as a self-published affair in 2019, it was picked up by Amazon and really started to blow up in 2024. Now, in 2026, Dungeon Crawler Carl is even bigger than ever, and it feels like we're just getting started. It's easy to see why Dungeon Crawler Carl is so popular. The adventures feel like a traditional role-playing game come to life, set in a world story where Earth has been destroyed by aliens and human survivors are forced into an 18-level underground labyrinth to compete in an intergalactic reality television show. It's basically Hunger Games meets Dungeons & Dragons, so it's no surprise that the books have translated so beautifully into an actual RPG. Image via Amazon Renegade Game Studios has developed a full tabletop adaptation based on the concept of Dungeon Crawler Carl, where one person acts as the game master, controlling the monsters and enemies while other players fight to survive. Of course, any good tabletop RPG requires miniatures, and there's a new set releasing in November 2026 called Allies & Enemies. "Enhance your gameplay of the Dungeon Crawler Carl roleplaying games with these 10 pre-painted Dungeon Crawler Carl miniatures," reads the official product description. "This set features many of the most dangerous and friendly characters from the bestselling LitRPG book series ready to use in your RPG campaigns or simply to collect! Inside you’ll find Brynhild's daughters: Hekla & Eva, Bianca & Prepotente and even Lucia Mar in both her day and night forms!" Characters included in the set: Hekla Eva Prepotente Lucia Mar Night Lucia Mar Day Quan Ch Florin Bianca Gustavo Cici Also releasing in November is the Mobs of Mordecai set, and the Unstoppable set, both of which feature their own unique pre-painted miniatures. If you enjoy the world of Dungeon Crawler Carl, the RPG is definitely worth checking out. The full game launches November 2026, and the 300-page rulebook is also available to pre-order now. The Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook is 300+ pages focusing on world dungeon floors 3 to 5. The book talks players through character creation, skills, spells, neighborhoods, saferooms, loot, mobs, and pretty much everything you need to play properly. You can build your own character from the ground up with nearly infinite combinations of backgrounds, skills, races, and classes, so there's plenty of scope for the full Dungeon Crawler Carl experience. Features include: Character customization beyond your wildest dreams: create your own skills, races, classes, and more Incorporate canonical characters and locations from the novels, or make the World Dungeon your own Over 24 easy-to-play sessions (8+ neighborhoods/quests per floor) Create your own character or play as canon characters, including Carl, Donut, and Katia The next Dungeon Crawler Carl book, currently under the working title The Beautiful Place, doesn't have an official release date at the time of writing.
