Jamie Fountain, 24, was driving a blue BMW 318D along Greenfield Road near Flitwick, Bedfordshire, when he collided with three teenage boys - two of whom were riding a bicycle, while the third was on a scooter. The car briefly slowed after the collision, but it continued towards Flitwick after the incident, which happened at around 11.40pm on April 3. Emergency services were called to the scene, but 13-year-old Noah Campbell was pronounced dead a short time later. The two other boys were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Bedfordshire Police found Fountain's damaged car deserted in a nearby street shortly afterwards, then located Fountain and arrested him. At Northampton Crown Court on Friday, Fountain, of Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, pleaded guilty to one count of causing death by careless driving whilst over the legal limit for alcohol and one count of causing death by careless driving while over the legal limit for drugs. The construction worker also admitted two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving in relation to the two other boys. 'We are utterly devastated - Noah's death has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever.' They added: 'Noah was a talented and versatile sportsman. While football was his favourite sport - playing for many local teams - he was a gifted all-rounder who excelled in rugby, cricket and athletics. 'Outside of organised sports, Noah stayed active and adventurous - he loved challenging himself at the gym and spending time at the bike park.'Some of his happiest memories were made enjoying attending Liverpool FC and Luton Town FC matches alongside his dad.'Detective Sergeant Shona Searle, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire serious collision investigation unit, said: 'Our thoughts remain firmly with the family and friends of Noah and the two other boys involved in this collision.'Noah was just 13 years old and had his whole life ahead of him, while the other two boys will live with the physical and emotional impact of this collision for the rest of their lives.'They continue to be supported by a specialist trained officer and we ask that all three families are given privacy at this time.'Fountain will be sentenced on September 25. Passenger Ellie Ireland, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, denied perverting the course of justice at an earlier hearing, the force confirmed.
