The extraordinary scenes unfolded on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Sylhet, Bangladesh, to London on Thursday. The confrontation is understood to have started as an argument before spiralling into violence during the journey. Children and elderly passengers were among those on board as the commotion broke out. The brawl follows another bout of chaos aboard a Britain-bound flight earlier this summer. An easyJet service to Liverpool was forced to turn back to Tenerife on July 21 after a bitter row erupted between two British families. Spanish air traffic controllers said around ten passengers were caught up in the dispute, which flared around 30 minutes after take-off. The captain made the dramatic decision to turn the jet around because of the “danger this posed to the safety of the flight”, air traffic control said. Police met the aircraft when it returned to Tenerife, although Spain’s Civil Guard said no arrests were made. Eight British passengers travelling together – two adults and six minors – were removed from the plane. A Civil Guard spokeswoman said: “Eight people were removed from the plane who had been travelling together, two adults and six minors. “What appears to have happened is that a heated discussion started in the airport terminal between two families before they boarded the plane and those problems obviously continued on the plane which is why it turned back. “We’re not aware of any physical fighting on board. No arrests took place but all eight people taken off the plane have been identified. All eight are British nationals.” Comment now
