Resident Sedick Dawood told the outlet: “I love Steven, but here again Cape Town is being bought by foreigners pushing up property prices for citizens.” Over on social media, a fellow resident commented when the house went up for sale for £8.5 million: “We are unable to enjoy or afford to enjoy our own land because of foreign demand.” However, a friend of Steven’s said: “Steven loves the place in South Africa – but he’s just not able to visit it enough. In the last couple of years, his business has exploded.
