Sign in to your TheGamer account New previews for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 have dropped, and they confirm once and for all that the incredibly controversial transformation timers have been removed. We’ve been waiting a very long time for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, so it instantly became one of the most anticipated things about the whole franchise when it was finally revealed earlier this year. That hype took a very noticeable and loud knock when it was confirmed that the game would feature transformation timers. In previous Dragon Ball games, transformations could be kept up forever with ki, but Xenoverse 3 was making them something you had to really work towards. While that approach had some upsides, most fans were vehemently against it and begged Dimps to remove them from the game. Thank kami, because that’s exactly what has happened. You Can Technically Be A Super Saiyan Forever In Xenoverse 3 Transformation Timers Are No Longer A Thing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 had an updated demo for press at Gamescom and, as reported by YouTuber Globku, it confirmed that Dimps has removed transformation timers from the game entirely. Transformations are once again tied to ki, just like they were in the previous games, which means they can be kept up by charging. Globku wasn’t sure if that ki requirement makes transformations longer or not, but it does mean they are under the player’s control and not up to a timer. Basically, it sounds like Dimps has just gone straight back to the previous Xenoverse games when it comes to transformations, which is honestly a good move considering how controversial it was. While it’s not always a good thing to bow to backlash, I don’t think I can understate just how much fans were against this change and what it meant for the flow of Xenoverse. It was quite a radical shift in the first place, after all, so it’s really nothing but a good thing and should put the excitement for Xenoverse right back on track.
