Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 has been something that fans have wanted for so long that it seemed like it could do no wrong when it was first announced. That was quickly disproven when it was revealed that transformations like Super Saiyan were being changed to work on a timer, instead of being based on ki like in the previous games. Dragon Ball fans made it very clear that they weren’t on board with this change, and it became a big bit of discourse for a good few weeks. Thankfully, Gamescom previews confirmed that Bandai actually listened to the feedback and removed the timer altogether, something that it has now highlighted itself and explained in depth. Xenoverse 3 Battle Guide Details Transformation Mechanics It Looks Like Every Race Has A Tier 2 Form Earlier today, Bandai Namco published a detailed Battle Guide for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 on its official website. The guide explains pretty much all of the game’s combat mechanics and controls, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that the most interesting bit is the section about transformations, also known as Awoken Skills. Interestingly, this Battle Guide is the first time that Bandai Namco has addressed the change to transformations, as it confirms that players can “remain in an Awoken form indefinitely” and that it will only end if your Ki gauge is depleted. Of course, we knew that from the recent previews, but it’s still nice to have it in writing. That’s not all that’s revealed about transformations, though, as the guide also seems to confirm that every race in the game will have a second-tier form. After noting that the stronger form is based on which race you play as, Bandai says that once the Awakening gauge is filled again, players can unlock an “additional transformation” that restores their HP. While that's definitely cool, some Xenoverse fans have been worried that Super Saiyan 2 has been removed from the game and that Saiyans can only transform into Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 3. That hasn’t been outright confirmed, but the mention of an “additional transformation” makes me think it might actually be the case. Let's hope it's not!
