Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's Brutal AI Will Be Nerfed Soon

Thank God, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's Unfair CPU Is Being Nerfed In The "Near Future" Published Aug 6, 2026, 6:20 AM EDT George is the Lead News Editor for TheGamer, and has been working in the industry since 2021 after graduating from the University of South Wales with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. This hands-on experience lets him dive into gaming communities and follow the latest trends. Some of the games George has extensively covered first-hand include Dead Rising, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and Ninja Gaiden 4. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has confirmed that the infamously and unfairly challenging CPU that the DLC introduced will be adjusted in “the near future”. Last week, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero finally released its massive Super Limit Breaking Neo DLC, which brings with it a bunch of new characters, customisation options, stages, a brand-new mode, and much more. It’s a big shot in the arm for the game and mostly a fantastic expansion that’s well worth it. That is, as long as you don’t mind wanting to break your controller. For whatever reason, the CPU was made incredibly difficult and skilled in Super Limit Breaking Neo, even on the game’s easiest difficulty setting. It seems that this was a mistake, as it’s been officially confirmed that changes to the CPU are coming very soon. Don’t Worry, Sparking Zero’s AI Fighters Aren’t Always Going To Be So Unfair Maybe We Can All Actually Complete The New Sparking Episodes Now Since Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s DLC dropped earlier in the week, players have widely reported that the game’s AI opponents are cheaply unfair and able to anticipate pretty much every move that you make. It’s a far cry from how they were in the base game, and has made playing through the new modes a bit of a chore, to say the least. Well, it seems that Bandai Namco has heard all of our complaints, as it confirmed in a recent Twitter post that the CPU is going to be adjusted soon. The post notes that, after a new update is released tomorrow, the team is working on another patch for “the near future” that plans to “adjust CPU behaviour”. Although the post doesn’t outright say that the CPU is getting nerfed, it’s pretty clear that’s what will happen considering all of the complaints from players over the last week and a bit. It’s currently not clear when we’re going to get the update, but thank god that it’s even happening since it’s a real drag on all of the new single-player content. That being said, I can’t help but hope that a new difficulty option is added to keep the CPU as challenging as it currently is. If you’re a skilled player, the raised difficulty does make fights a bit more interesting, even if it really shouldn’t be for all of the game’s battles. Dragon Ball: Sparking!
