Bandai Namco Hints Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's Massive DLC Is Right Around The Corner Published Jul 23, 2026, 7:15 AM EDT George is the Lead News Editor for TheGamer, and has been working in the industry since 2021 after graduating from the University of South Wales with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. A recent post from Bandai Namco US seems to be teasing that the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s big expansion isn’t far off at all and could release in the very near future. With the announcement of Xenoverse 3, a new character for FighterZ, more DLC for Kakarot, and the launch of a whole new game in Gekishin Squadra, it’s fair to say that Dragon Ball fans have been very well fed over the past few years. For my money, the biggest treat of them all was Sparking Zero, which took the Budokai Tenkiachi formula to another level. That being said, Sparking Zero got a lot of criticism after its record-breaking sales figures and player numbers started to dwindle. Fans wanted more modes, more maps, more customisation, and, somehow, more characters, which we’ll be getting in the massive Super Limit Breaking Neo DLC. If a recent tease is to be believed, we might not be waiting long, either. Sparking Zero’s Big DLC Teased After Months Of Silence “Was Thinking The Same Thing” As you might remember, Sparking Zero’s big expansion was announced at the start of the year and was later promised a release date in the summer. We’ve been in the summer for more than a month now, but nothing has been announced, and fans have started to fear that the ambitious DLC might have been pushed back a bit. It seems that isn’t the case, though. In a recent tweet, Bandai Namco US referenced the promised release date of Sparking Zero by saying, “Are you staying cool this SUMMER?”, before noting that things should “cool off soon” and that it’s “never a bad idea to stay indoors with a great game”. At first, it seems like a bit of a leap to presume this is for Sparking Zero’s DLC, but the replies make it very clear what Bandai is referencing. Dragon Ball fans caught on quick to the tease and started asking about it, with Bandai replying to several of them and even saying that they were “thinking the same thing” when someone mentioned Sparking Zero. This suggests that Sparking Zero’s DLC is right around the corner and could get a new trailer and release date any day now. Past experience tells us that we’ll probably get an announcement around a week before the DLC is released, and I’m betting that it’s going to happen before July is over. Don't worry, Sparking fans, our time is nearly here. Dragon Ball: Sparking!
