Yesterday marked the long-awaited arrival of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s massive Super Limit Breaking Neo DLC. While the new characters, stages, customisation options, and modes are the big draw for a lot of players, the expansion also adds some new Episode Battles to the mix for even more single-player goodness. As great as it is to see new Episode Battles for Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Cell, there is a bit of a problem with them already. Just like with some of the base game’s story missions, players are having an incredibly tough time with the “terrible” new Episode Battles and their ridiculous pass requirements. Oh God, Sparking Zero’s New Episode Battles Are Its Toughest Yet You’re Really Asking A Lot For Me To Win As Krillin If you’ve been with Sparking Zero since it first launched, then you no doubt remember that some of its Episode Battles (especially the ones leading to What-If scenarios) can be incredibly tough, with cheap opponents, tight win conditions, and unfair match-ups. Well, I hate to break it to you, but the new ones that have been added are just as hard. Real ones remember Future Trunks’ Zamasu fights as being the true definition of unfair. Great Ape Vegeta was bad, but those were much worse. Over on the Sparking Zero subreddit, Redditor SweepingRocks asked if anyone else has been having “the worst time” in the new Episode Battles, noting that Krillin’s feels like it's “scaled past the highest difficulty”, particularly with the fight against Frieza. Players were quick to confirm that they’re also really struggling, and not just with Krillin. Yamcha’s Episode Battle is also being called out as “unnecessarily difficult”, with one of the fights pitting him against multiple Cell Jrs without any kind of healing. Bear in mind that this is also making you play as Yamcha of all characters and expecting you to win, so it’s even worse than some of Goku and Vegeta’s tough battles. At least Cell's Episode Battle doesn't seem as bad. There are tons of complaints about the new Episode Battles, and I can confirm after trying them out that they really are the toughest and cheapest yet. Krillin’s fight against Frieza on Namek has already stopped me in my tracks and forced me to get good once again, so I can only imagine how painful the later fights are going to get.
