Double-decker bus smashes into house as shocking pictures reveal debris left strewn across road

A DOUBLE-DECKER bus has smashed into a house, leaving parts of the collapsed building strewn across the road. Shocking photos show an entire side of the home has fallen away, with the bus sticking out of the wall. Locals said the noise of the collision sounded like a “bomb going off”. The FirstBus, which was carrying about eight people, crashed into the three-bedroom house at 10.10am. The homeowner had spent the last six years renovating the house. Norfolk Constabulary said there don’t appear to be any injuries. Kevin Griffin, 64, lives nextdoor and told ITV: “All we could see was dust. I was just going out of the house, and the bus was coming towards me. “I saw a cloud of dust. It did sound like a bomb, or a big explosion. I just ran to the bus. Most read in The Sun “I got onto the bus, then I was helping people get off the bus. It was upsetting.” A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue said:”We were called at 10.17am to a single vehicle road traffic collision in The Green in Ormesby St Margaret. “We sent crews from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Carrow and Dereham, and worked with emergency services to make the area safe.” The bus crashed into the house after going around a tight bend, it’s understood. A spokesperson for First Bus said: “We can confirm one of our buses has been involved in a collision with a building in Ormesby St Margaret in Norfolk. “There are currently no reports of any injuries among members of the public, our staff or passengers and we are working closely with the local emergency services to agree next steps.”
