Dorinda Medley Reveals How She Landed All's Fair Acting Role

'The Golden Life' Official Trailer | New Series Premieres Oct. 20 | The OGs Are Back on E!Dorinda Medley is doing very well, b---h. Especially after landing her debut acting role in season two of Hulu's legal drama All's Fair. So, how did the former Bravolebrity actually book very first TV appearance as an actress? "I auditioned on a Friday and they gave me the role the following week and I filmed a week later," Dorinda told E! News The Rundown's Erin Lim Rhodes at the NYC premiere of her new E! series The Golden Life on Oct. 14. "So, it was cold turkey." "I almost died when I got the role," she added. "It was fantastic. But acting is hard." To prepare, the 61-year-old did seek some help from her church friend, who used to be Zsa Zsa Gabor’s acting coach. And while the former Upper East Side housewife wouldn't spill too many details about who she plays, she did tell E!, "I play a very interesting character that’s very well-suited to me. You’ll see it and be like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s her.’" And, yes, she did work directly with series stars Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close."The cast is just off the charts," Dorinda reflected. "Leave it up to me to do my first role and it’s with Glenn Close and Kim Kardashian. Both incredibly fortunate but ridiculously scary." No matter fans' reactions, Dorinda is proud she took a leap of faith and tried something new. "I think it’s so important to keep facing your fears," she shared. "You can’t fail if you don’t try, and you can’t succeed if you don’t try." While she got along with her costars on All's Fair, the same can't always be said for her Golden Life costars. But despite plenty of bickering—as the E! trailer teased—the reality TV OGs share an unbreakable bond.Pari Dukovic/E! Entertainment"We are so rhythmically, naturally suited," Dorinda said. "We’re individually fun characters and collectively it is what it is." "We can argue, we can go through stuff," she added, "at this point we have gone through everything: Husbands, raised children, moms, wives, ex-wives. And now we choose to be together."
