Donald Trump set to take part in Freedom 250 Grand Prix lap of honor before historic race around streets of D.C.

PRESIDENT Donald Trump is about to enter the fast lane. Reports suggest that Trump will take part in a ceremonial lap of honor ahead of the Indycar Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington DC. It will race along part of Pennsylvania Ave and hit multiple US landmarks including the Capitol Building. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! According to the New York Post, the presidential motorcade will do a lap of the circuit before the race begins. “President Trump is ensuring America gets the spectacular birthday it deserves as we celebrate our 250th anniversary,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle told OutKick and Fox News Digital. “The historic IndyCar race set to take place in our Nation’s Capital will be one of the greatest and most iconic races in history. “The President will leave his imprint on this historic race in a way that only he can.” It is not the first time that Trump has gotten involved in racing festivities.
