After making sure the toddler was safe, Trump returned behind Sandra as she thanked him from the podium. She told the audience: “It’s an honor to be here today. The no tax on tips and overtime measure was approved as part of Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act in early July last year. The policy allows eligible workers to deduct up to $12,500 in qualified tip or overtime earnings from their federal taxable income, while joint filers can deduct up to $25,000 on top of the standard deduction without itemizing. The family’s two young sons also qualify for Trump Accounts, which were signed into law on July 4, 2025, and officially came into effect on July 4 this year. The accounts operate like custodial-style traditional IRAs for children under 18. Parents can contribute up to $5,000 a year, with the money invested in mutual funds or exchange-traded funds tracking the S&P 500 or other equity indexes, with at least 90 percent invested in US companies. Children can begin accessing the funds when they turn 18. Any US citizen child born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, who has a Trump Account opened in their name is also eligible for a $1,000 federal seed deposit. Comment now
