Dolly Parton’s sister rips ‘endless garbage’ posted on social media after star’s death

Stella Parton took to social media on Friday to rip some of the comments that she has seen since the death of her sister, country music legend Dolly Parton, just more than a week ago.“First let me say, thank you to the ones of you who have shown ‘genuine’ support and love during this time of our family bereavement,” she wrote. “We will be okay in time but each of us will grieve in our own personal way. Every human being experiences pain and loss in life and my family is no different. Sadly, because of the way our lives have been lived in front of the public, we have no choice but to be subjected to incredible pressure and insensitivity from strangers. “There is a tremendous amount of AI and endless garbage being posted everyday and it’s been challenging to absorb or ignore,” she continued. “As time passes, those who are in the business of exploiting the loss and tragedies of others on a daily basis will move on to the next stampede of endless misinformation. My big sister Dolly would be surprised and delighted by the love her family and she has been show during this time. She loved her fans and the public in general. That is the reason she chose not to express her opinions on a lot of things like politics, religion and individuals in the public eye.”Stella Parton was not through.“She knew as well as anyone what a negative vortex that could turn into which is nothing but a huge waste of positive energy,” she continued. “My sister was a positive influence to the world into which she was born. She used her music as a tool and a passion to move people in a positive way. But her heart was so big and tender toward anyone who felt, as she often felt as a child. The feeling of being told you were less than, undeserving or insignificant were deep wounds on all of us as children.“I walked alongside her my entire life and witnessed and experienced many of the same slights and insults even through this recent loss in our lives,” Parton added. “Finally, I ask that you show more compassion and wisdom as we move forward in life. Use my sister’s life as an example of tolerance and respect toward others. It’s not about the most clever comments, AI garbage or snarky tweets. At the end of the day or the end of a life, how will you feel about yourself? It’s not about what other individuals you will never meet think of you!”Dolly Parton died on Aug. 25 after a brief battle with cancer.There was an outpouring of love in the media and across social media, for the most part, but not everything was positive. That included vaccine conspiracy theorists trying to attribute her death — at 80 — to her vaccination status.Parton was an advocate for the COVID-19 vaccine, and even though there is no evidence that it contributed to her death, this did not stop the churn on social media.“Was Dolly Parton yet another Covid vaccine victim?” radio host Wayne Allyn Root wrote. “She took the vaxx on TV. She changed name of her hit song ‘Jolene Jolene’ to ‘Vaccine, Vaccine.’ She encouraged fans to get it. Now she’s dead of cancer. We’ll never know.”Root added that he knew that people died of cancer and that people died at the age of 80 “long before the Covid vaccine.” But he then claimed, without providing evidence, that the COVID vaccine “causes turbo cancer.”“This sounds like another case of ‘turbo cancer,’” he wrote. “RIP Dolly.”“Yeah, I wonder how she got that?” Bethany O’Leary wrote on X in reference to the report that Parton died from cancer. “Could it be the Covid vaccine? Horrific … This is happening to so many people (now). Don’t ever forget this.”“It’s being reported that Dolly died from a ‘Brief battle with cancer,’” Harry Fisher wrote on X. “Brief meaning ‘of short duration.’ Some might call it ‘Turbo.’ God bless.”There is no credible evidence that the COVID vaccine causes “turbo cancer” or any form of cancer, and Parton fans jumped into the conversation to point out that fact and defend her. “Seriously?” one person replied to Root on X. “Seriously?
