Dolly Parton’s secret trip for experimental cancer treatment revealed

Dolly Parton secretly traveled to Germany for an experimental cancer treatment approximately a year before her death. The country music legend reportedly flew to Frankfurt on a private jet to undergo the treatment, according to TMZ, though it’s unclear exactly what the procedure entailed. Insiders told the outlet she remained in Germany for about a week before returning home and she believed the treatment helped restore her strength. Getty Images A rep for Parton didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment. As Page Six previously reported, the legendary singer died on Aug. 25 following a secret cancer battle. She was 80. Her sister Stella Parton later revealed that several of their family members had no idea Dolly was battling cancer. “Dolly could not bear negative things and she would not have wanted her fans worried about it,” Stella said on “CBS Mornings.” According to the sources, Parton stayed in Germany for about a week before returning home. Dolly’s family nor her reps have yet to reveal the type of cancer the musician faced. TMZ reported last month that Dolly was hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with kidney and autoimmune issues, days before her death.
