Dolly’s nephew said he knew he would one day have to confirm the passing of the 9-5 singer, but he hadn’t “truly felt it until now.” “It is an honor, an honor that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness,” Bryan said. “But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents and countless others who have watched her and longed to meet her in the heavens.” Tributes immediately began pouring in for the singer whose career spanned several decades. Khloe Kardashian broke her silence with an Instagram story post reading, “I am heartbroken. My sweet Dolly.” “Some people are so extraordinary, their existence feels almost impossible. Dolly was one of those people,” the reality star said in a lengthier post. “A once-in-a-lifetime soul. A woman whose light, heart, talent and humanity changed this world forever. To have admired her was a gift.” Kelly Osbourne also paid tribute to Dolly, writing “There will never be another Dolly Parton.” “Dolly, thank you for paving the way. Not only for women in music, but for women everywhere to be unapologetically themselves. You showed us that we could be ambitious and kind, strong and soft, fearless and authentic.” President Donald Trump also paid tribute to the singer, saying her death is “a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her, and never will. “In her honor, I am lowering the American flag throughout the United States for a one week period beginning tonight at 6:00PM. Rest in Peace, Dolly! The World loves you.” Dolly faced months of health issues before her death, telling PEOPLE on Friday, “I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl.” Carl Thomas Dean, Dolly’s husband of 60 years, died in March 2025 at the age of 82. Dean was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2019. “It’s not like I haven’t been through hard times with my health,” Dolly told PEOPLE. In the months before her death, Dolly’s health issues forced her to pull out of some scheduled appearances, including a Dollywood event on August 14. “I’ve told you before, all my fans, that I’ve had a few little health issues, and sometimes I get a little dizzy and I get dehydrated,” the Jolene singer told her fans. “And so, my Nashville doctor has kind of clipped my wings, saying you ain’t traveling this week.” More to follow… For the latest news on this story, keep checking back at The U.S. Sun, your go-to destination for the best celebrity news, sports news, real-life stories, jaw-dropping pictures, and must-see videos.
