DOJ says insurers can’t hide behind legal shield in California wildfire coverage case

The Department of Justice is weighing into a landmark case in California, arguing federal law does not protect the 16  insurance companies that are being sued for allegedly conspiring to cancel homeowners’ fire insurance and force them to obtain coverage under a state-run program.
