Do you want Modi to resign: NEET protester alleges assault by masked men

A 19-year-old student, who participated in the anti-paper leak protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has alleged he was assaulted by four masked men in Bengaluru after they questioned him about demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resignation.According to the FIR, the incident took place at around 10:30 pm on July 28 near BEL Circle while the student, identified as Amann Deep Singh, was walking home after dinner. He said that he was speaking on his phone and walking towards MES Road when the masked men arrived on two bikes and intercepted him.The complainant alleged that the attackers first confirmed among themselves that he was "Amann Deep Singh of AISA (left-wing All India Students' Association) before verbally abusing him. One of the assailants allegedly shouted, "You son of a b***, do you want Prime Minister Modi to resign?"The accused then allegedly attacked Singh with a solid wooden log, striking his right leg and causing injuries, before fleeing the scene. Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR against unidentified persons and launched an investigation to identify and trace the accused.The incident comes after all FIRs against CJP protesters were taken back by police in seven states, including Delhi and Bihar, barring those with criminal pasts. The development was in line with the July 25 agreement between the Centre and CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka following their talks. Furthermore, CJP protesters have reportedly been facing abuse and humiliation since the massive agitation was called off.
