DMK MP A. Raja, MLAs Sekarbabu and Vasantham Karthikeyan booked for derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu CM Vijay

Sekarbabu and the Kallakurichi police booked MLA Vasantham K. Karthikeyan for their alleged derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and Law Minister C.T. Nirmal Kumar recently.In Chennai, Saidapet police registered a case against DMK deputy general secretary and Nilgiris MP A. Raja based on a complaint filed by one Karthik, alleging that the MP made derogatory remarks against Minister for Energy Resources and Law C.T. Nirmal Kumar during the protest organised by the DMK. The Dravidian party held a protest at Saidapet on Saturday (September 12) condemning Chief Minister Vijay’s speech in the Assembly on September 7.The case has been registered under six sections, including using obscene language, making defamatory remarks against an individual with the intention of disturbing public peace, inciting violence between groups on the basis of religion, race or language, and acts causing disruption to public order.Separately, the North Beach police registered a case against Harbour MLA and former Minister Sekarbabu for addressing Chief Minister in a derogatory manner.Further, the Kallakurichi police have booked a case against DMK’s Rishivandhiyam MLA Mr. Karthikeyan under four sections for making derogatory remarks against Mr. Vijay during the protest on Saturday.
