DK Shivakumar, political heavyweights to join India Today Karnataka Roundtable today

Several of Karnataka’s most prominent political, business, sporting and cultural figures will come together for the India Today Karnataka Roundtable on Wednesday with Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, Leader of Opposition R Ashoka and cricketer Shreyanka Patil among the key participants.The roundtable, happening at JW Marriott, will bring together leaders and experts from across politics, business, industry, technology, healthcare, culture and civil society for discussions on Karnataka’s growth, priorities and future trajectory.Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will deliver a special address, outlining his vision for Karnataka and the state’s next phase of development. The discussions will focus on issues including investment, innovation, infrastructure, employment, governance and emerging sectors, while examining the opportunities and challenges shaping the state.The political landscape will be a key focus of the event. R Ashoka, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, will outline the BJP’s political strategy, while Tejasvi Surya will speak about the party’s roadmap for Karnataka. Nikhil Kumaraswamy, State Youth President of the Janata Dal (Secular), will offer a regional perspective. Bengaluru’s future will also take centre stage, with NA Haris, Harish Bijoor, Srinivas Alavilli and Revathy Ashok discussing the city’s priorities and challenges. Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development, will share his vision for the city and its development.Healthcare will be another major theme, with UT Khader Fareed, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, discussing Karnataka’s healthcare priorities. Rizwan Arshad, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and CN Ashwath Narayan, MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister, will engage in a political face-off, presenting competing perspectives on the state’s governance and political direction. The roundtable will also turn to the aspirations of Karnataka’s younger generation. Pranitha Subhash, Samyukta Hornad, Naser Al Azzeh and Vineeth ‘Beep’ Kumar will discuss changing aspirations, concerns and perspectives among young people in the state.Several critical issues facing Karnataka will feature in separate conversations, including the Cauvery water challenge, the DKS legacy, healthcare, technology and the state’s investment ambitions. These discussions will feature N Chaluvarayaswamy, Aisshwarya DKS Hegde, Priyank Kharge and MB Patil.Sport and culture will round out the programme.
