Sign in to your TheGamer account Dispatch director Chris Rebbert has shared his thoughts on the much-requested Malevola romance, and it’s not looking good for a potential second season. When Dispatch first released a little over a year ago, it very quickly garnered a big community that was eager to see what each new episode brought. I’d argue that things really blew up in the fourth episode when Robert was forced to choose between going on a date with Blonde Blazer or hanging out with Invisgal. That tough decision turned Dispatch from a hit into a phenomenon, with romance being all that most fans could talk about. It wasn’t just about Mandy and Courtney, though, as the Dispatch community quickly started begging for more options, with Malevola easily being the number one pick. AdHoc has poked fun at the requests before, but it’s now very clear just how realistic the romance is. Dispatch Director Doesn’t Think Malevola Is Actually Interested In Robert There Go Everyone’s Hopes And Dreams As pointed out by Twitter user DomTheBomb in a post that’s gone viral in the Dispatch community, the game’s recently added commentary mode includes director Chris Rebbert highlighting the ongoing Malevola romance requests. In the commentary for Episode 6, Rebbert admits that it’s something people will probably “hate” him for saying. Rebbert goes on to say that he doesn’t think that “Malevola has any romantic or sexual interest in Robert” and that she “just enjoys toying with him and making him uncomfortable”, in reference to the scene in Episode 6 that most took as a sign. Malevola is apparently “too cool” for anyone to have a relationship with. The director even points to the scene as an important lesson for the player that “not everybody wants to be with you”. I don’t think that lesson was well learned. Considering Rebbert is literally the director of Dispatch, it’s fair to say what he ‘believes’ is true is very likely the case. While AdHoc could give in to fans and try to force a relationship into the still unconfirmed second season, it’s pretty obvious from that comment and all of the previous jokes that it’s not really a possibility. Now that’s out of the way, let’s discuss Waterboy… Dispatch Released October 22, 2025 ESRB Mature 17+ / Blood, Crude Humor, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Use of Drugs and Alcohol Developer(s) AdHoc Studio Publisher(s) AdHoc Studio Genre(s) Strategy, Point-and-click, Adventure
