Disney's expensive fantasy series based on a popular comic franchise will be released in just three months, as news arrives of the forthcoming series' big premiere. Disney+ is home to a number of major fantasy series that have become defining elements of the streaming platform's lineup in recent years. Some of the biggest upcoming shows include this year's Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3, alongside animated series based on major franchises, including the Warrior Cats books and the Kingdom Hearts video games. Now, Disney has confirmed that the Disney+ K-drama The Remarried Empress will premiere on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The most expensive K-drama ever produced by the studio, The Remarried Empress will arrive with a four-episode premiere in the first week of November. This continues with two new episodes every week, until the show airs its finale on November 25. News of when the 10-episode series first arrives on Disney+ comes after its confirmed premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in October with its first three episodes. The Remarried Empress is based on the webtoon of the same name. It follows Empress Navier (Shin Min-a) of the Eastern Kingdom, whose husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji-hoon), falls in love with a slave girl, Rashta (Lee Se-young). The strain on their marriage begins to impact the kingdom, until Navier and Sovieshu compromise with a deal: Sovieshu will be allowed to marry Rashta, so long as Navier can marry Crown Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk) of the rival Western Kingdom. The webtoon itself has garnered 3 billion views globally across its many chapters. Disney+ The series is directed by Cho Su-won, whose previous works include I Can Hear Your Voice and Still 17. The show is written by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choong-yeol. It's also been described as Disney's biggest K-drama of all time, specifically because of just how lavish and expensive it is to produce. The series is going to be one of the biggest releases for the platform going forward, since the high viewership of the webtoon coupled with the amount of money spent on its production means it will need to be a massive success for everything to fall into place. Disney has become a go-to locale for K-drama programs, from the action thriller Moving to the romantic drama Snowdrop. The Remarried Empress is but one of many projects that have been produced for the platform. But, because of how well-performing the webtoon is, it's going to be one of the biggest premieres of the year. It may even be the biggest period, considering the show's initial Busan debut and what that could entail for reviews and overall viewership. With the series' November release date officially confirmed, it won't be much longer before Disney+ provides a new and dramatic K-drama for viewers to get obsessed with. Since the expensive TV show will be airing sooner rather than later, the extent of its lavishness will be on full display very quickly as episodes are released within the span of a month.
