At the time, former CEO Bob Iger stated that streaming is the future and used the many properties Disney now owns, including Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar, to be exclusively streamed on their platform. Now, with many new original movies and series as well as the classics, Disney+ is a streaming giant. Deadline has confirmed that Disney and Hulu's series The Artful Dodger has been renewed for a third and final season. Thomas Brodie-Sangster (known for Maze Runner and The Queen's Gambit) will be returning to his role as the Artful Dodger alongside David Thewlis as Fagin, and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox. Filming is expected to begin in the next few months in Sydney. It's unclear why Disney+ and Hulu have decided to end the Oliver Twist sequel in its third season, as it has been reported that The Artful Dodger is the most-viewed Australian original title on the streaming platform. Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Disney Australia and New Zealand’s SVP and managing director spoke about the renewal and stated, "The renewal is a testament to the quality of this show, and everyone involved in making it."
