Raquel claimed the abuse was “apparent to the adults on Disney’s set”. She alleged she was groomed and assaulted in a hotel room where the cast was staying and also on a flight. Raquel said the staff member gave her alcohol at just 14. The complainant claimed the abuse took place “in plain view of the cast and crew and could be heard by the sound technicians managing the cast’s microphones”. But she claimed “no one at Disney intervened”. She alleged that she had been told by Disney staff to “bond” with the unnamed employee and was allegedly separated from her guardian on set. She said she appeared sick and intoxicated on set, but that Disney did not investigate. Instead, the studio allegedly blamed her for her worsening performance, branding her “out of control” and cancelling another planned role. The complaint added: “Defendant Disney repeatedly failed Ms Boileau. Disney facilitated and concealed Mr Doe’s severe sexual abuse of Ms Boileau.” Raquel is suing The Walt Disney Company for damages related to emotional distress and economic losses, as well as punitive damages. Raquel’s lawyer Doug Wigdor, who previously represented Cassie Ventura against Sean “Diddy” Combs, said the studio’s alleged conduct was “inexcusable”. He said in a statement with his colleague Jane Kim: “Over the last decade, countless child actors have come forward to bravely share their experiences of abuse by adults in entertainment. “As former government prosecutors, our message to the entertainment industry is simple: This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved — directly or indirectly — must be held accountable.” The Sun contacted Disney for comment.
