Disgraced Household Cavalry soldier jailed for plotting online with 'mother' of two girls to abuse them

See more Daily Mail on Google - save us as a Preferred Source Published: 07:39 EDT, 10 September 2026 | Updated: 08:00 EDT, 10 September 2026 A soldier in the Household Cavalry was jailed for 12 years for plotting to rape a ten-month-old baby.Graham Jarvis, 38, agreed to travel from his barracks in Knightsbridge, London to Wales to assault the infant and a seven-year-old girl in January 2024.Jarvis believed he was talking to the mother of the children but was really speaking to an undercover police officer online called ‘Kimberley’.Branded ‘cold and calculated’ by Judge Adam Hiddleston, Jarvis viewed children as nothing more than ‘objects to satisfy his urges’.He told the fictitious mother that he was interested in teenage girls but would ‘play’ with children.Jailing him, Judge Hiddleston said: ‘You are a paedophile who intended to commit the most serious offences against defenceless and vulnerable children.‘I have no doubt whatsoever at the time you made these arrangements you believed the children, a seven-year-old girl and ten-month-old baby, were real.‘You wanted to meet them and when you did, with the assistance of the mother, you intended to rape them.’ Graham Jarvis was jailed for 12 years for agreeing to rape two girls aged 10 months and 7 years Jarvis thought he was talking to girls' mother but he was really messaging a police officerLisa Wilson representing Jarvis said the Ministry of Defence had dismissed him from the Forces after his four-day trial heard in April.She said: ‘The court may well ask itself why a man with an exemplary military career found himself committing such disgusting offences.‘It was at a time when Mr Jarvis found himself at a particularly low ebb.’Judge Hiddleston told Jarvis he was a danger to children and would spend a further two years on licence following his release from prison.He added that he and the jury had listened with ‘horror’ to the messages Jarvis exchanged with the undercover police officer.Jarvis appeared at Southwark Crown Court in a black suit and tie and remained emotionless as he was jailed for two counts of arranging to commit a child sex offence.He will remain on a sexual harm prevention order and a sexual offender’s notification requirement until the end of his life.Prosecutor Katie Mustard said the paedophile immediately asked for the ages of the fictional children when he began messaging the officer. Jarvis was called a danger to children by the judge for his cold and calculated sexual crimes Miss Mustard said: ‘Mr Jarvis, from an early point in the conversation, said he had a sexual interest in children.‘He said “I’m into girls. I want to meet up. I’ve been messed about so much”.‘When police identified him as a user of the accounts, he was arrested at the barracks on 16 January, and various devices were seized and these conversations found.‘At the time, Mr Jarvis was in the Household Cavalry.’He was previously court-martialled and received 30 days detention for tendering counterfeit currency in 2009.Jarvis’s career in the military was not outlined in full at court, but the ceremonial role of the Household Cavalry involves protecting the King.It also provides escorts for state events and is often seen changing the guard at Horse Guards in Whitehall.Their red or blue tunics with white or red plumes make them one of the most recognisable wings of the British Army.
