‘Difficult to keep going’ – Jack Draper shares emotional message and reveals he will be taking break from tennis

JACK DRAPER is out for the rest of the year and will not play tennis again until early 2027. Britain’s most high-profile male player has had his fair share of injury setbacks over the past 15 months. Draper, 24, has dropped to 155th in the world rankings due to inactivity, having been up to fourth in the summer of 2025. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! His last match was a first-round exit to Spain’s Martin Landaluce at last month’s Cincinnati Open. There are concerns about Draper’s long-term career as he deals with a persistent arm injury as well as a form of knee tendinitis, which he has had “for a long time”. And any hopes he might return for the Asian swing of the calendar this autumn have now gone. In a social media post, he said: “Don’t usually love lots of words on here but I wanted to update you that I am aiming to return to the tour at the start of 2027. “Last summer all the dedication and work I had put into this sport was coming together. “It was all going my way and the path seemed so clear.
