Logo text Next time you find yourself stuck in traffic at Wilshire and Santa Monica, take a look around. The construction that’s been shutting down lanes and closing off Merv Griffin Way since last year turns out to be the future location of Jeff Bezos‘ new digs. Sources tell Rambling that the Amazon honcho has put down a deposit on a six-bedroom, 17,000-square-foot penthouse condo at the Aman Beverly Hills, the new super-luxe residence and hotel complex, spitting distance from Rodeo Drive, that’s set to open sometime in 2028. The exact price tag for the penthouse — one of two mirror-image top-floor residences — hasn’t been made public, but the still-unclaimed twin unit is currently being offered by Aman for an astronomical $200 million. That would make it the most expensive condo ever sold in L.A., by a factor of about five times. “For privacy reasons, Aman does not disclose the identities of buyers of Aman Residences,” a company publicist tells THR in a classic nondenial denial. But whoever ends up moving in, they definitely won’t be roughing it. The condo has 22-foot ceilings, a private cinema, gym, multiple kitchens, yoga decks and a rooftop with a 65-foot swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Owners will also get access to the hotel-resort next door, which will boast the Aman’s usual slate of top-tier amenities, including a spa, restaurants, high-end shops and a 10-acre botanical garden. Of course, cheaper units are available as well. A 3,600-square-foot, two-bedroom condo on a lower, less desirable floor will only set you back a measly $20 million. *** Also in Rambling Reporter: How The Shards original adaptation blew up at HBO — and ended up in Ryan Murphy’s hands; THR looks at all the actors lobbying to star in the X-Men reboot.
