The player base is very healthy and updates have felt meaningful for the most part, with the major additions also not doing too much to rock what is a working formula. There are still plenty of complaints, many of them fair, but overall, it's a really solid ARPG experience that all genre fans should try. That said, a big portion of the player base has been excluded from the proverbial party, up to now, but could all be about to change, if recent revelations are to be believed. As first reported by Eurogamer, a new claim from Dealabs' billbil-kun, who has become notable for their accurate leaks related to releases from across the platform spectrum, suggests that a Diablo IV Nintendo Switch 2 release is on the way soon. Much sooner than you may have expected, with the current line of thinking putting forward a potential arrival period in the middle of September (excluding the 15th or 18th). That's a little over a month from the time of writing, and it's easy to see how the game's arrival on such a popular console could breathe new life into the player base. The game will be subject to the very frustrating semi-physical release, where you can buy a case that comes with a code in the box, rather than actual cartridges being made available. They also revealed a price point for the game, with £63 / $70 / €70 seemingly where it's going to fall on the spectrum. That said, there obviously won't be a second-hand market for these, given how they're being sold, so you'll have to wait for an official sale if you want to get it any cheaper than that. The only caveat is that we have heard similar rumors to this one before that really failed to come to fruition, so don't take it as gospel until we get an official reveal. That would also likely line-up with many predicting that Season 15 of Diablo IV could get underway, with the PTR phase of that process currently ongoing. From there, a full reveal at Blizzcon or Gamescom would make total sense, and don't rule out more expensive versions of the game releasing with additional incentives to get a headstart on the new season.
