Researchers have finally corrected a 900-year-old mix-up by identifying a 12th-century sculpture in Dhar, previously thought to be Saraswati, as Gayatri. Advanced digital tools and 3D mapping unveiled subtle iconographic differences that had eluded scholars for centuries. Notably, the absence of a veena, an instrument often associated with Saraswati, was key in the re-identification.
