Dhanush fans offer free auto rides in Tamil Nadu, vow support if he enters politics

Members of the Dhanush Welfare Movement, which is a fan organisation of Tamil actor Dhanush in Madurai have announced free auto rides for the public on Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadashami, while expressing their willingness to support actor Dhanush if he decides to enter politics. The announcement comes amid speculation surrounding Dhanush’s reported visit to Delhi. The fans, however, have not indicated any direct link between the actor’s reported visit and their initiative. The auto drivers said the move was a gesture of gratitude towards Dhanush, who they said had gifted them free autos on the occasion of his 43rd birthday to help people struggling to earn a living.FREE RIDES FOR THE POOR AND ELDERLYMarimuthu, district secretary of the Dhanush Welfare Movement, said the drivers would use the autos gifted by the actor to provide free rides during the two festivals. “We are driving the autos that Dhanush anna gave us on the occasion of his 43rd birthday to help those who are struggling. As a gesture of gratitude to him, we will be providing free rides on Vijayadashami and Ayudha Pooja for the poor and the elderly,” Marimuthu said. The initiative is also intended to benefit children on their first day of school, along with elderly people and passengers from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.FANS SAY THEY WILL SUPPORT DHANUSH IF HE ENTERS POLITICS Addressing the possibility of Dhanush entering politics, Marimuthu said the decision would be entirely up to the actor. He added that the welfare movement members would continue to support him regardless of whether he chose to pursue a political career.“Dhanush anna will decide on his political entry. If he decides to enter politics, we will support him. Even if he doesn't, we will continue to support him. We are his fans,” Marimuthu said. The political speculation comes after AIADMK leader and former minister Rajendra Balaji said the party was open to welcoming Dhanush, praising his films and mass connect. He said anyone willing to accept Edappadi K Palaniswami’s leadership was welcome to join the party. The actor’s reported political ambitions have also drawn attention following the conversion of his fan club into a welfare movement. The members' announcement reflects their continued support for the actor, with the free auto rides planned as a gesture of gratitude for the vehicles they said he had gifted to help them earn a livelihood.- Ends
