DeWine is term-limited and has nothing to lose — so why is he still backing Ramaswamy?

Letters to the EditorDeWine needs to jettison his Ramaswamy endorsement Gov. Mike DeWine has denounced the vile Vivek Ramaswamy attack ad but has maintained his endorsement of this morally bankrupt candidate, who wants to allow 18-year-olds to buy handguns.DeWine has also acknowledged that Ramaswamy’s ads accusing Dr. Amy Acton of shutting down schools and businesses during COVID-19 are lies, that he made those decisions as governor. Yet he maintains his endorsement.DeWine knows the havoc that this man will unleash in an Ohio Statehouse where House Bill 6 corruption thrived.DeWine is term-limited and has nothing to lose by jettisoning this vicious person. He needs to follow the lead of The Plain Dealer and endorse Amy Acton. If he doesn’t, it will be a huge blot on a 45-year political career.It’s past time to do the right thing, governor.John Matuszak,Painesville
