Devotees throng Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri

A large number of devotees thronged Sri Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri here on Sunday. Devotees from across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other parts of the country began arriving from the early hours, resulting in long queues and heavy crowds at the temple premises.In view of the rush, the temple authorities temporarily suspended ‘Antaralaya Darshanam’ from 11 a.m. to facilitate quicker darshan for devotees waiting in the general queues. ‘Laghu Darshanam’ was continued until the afternoon. A special ‘Suryopasana Seva’ was also performed at the temple on Sunday as per tradition. Heavy crowds were witnessed at the areas where various ‘Arjitha Sevas’ were conducted.The temple authorities increased the supply of drinking water at the queue lines considering due to the hot weather. Water-supply staff were deployed to ensure continuous supply of cold drinking water for devotees.Arrangements were also made for uninterrupted distribution of annaprasadam at the new annadanam building.
