Devastation in Walford as ailing Denise in EastEnders collapses and is rushed to hospital

Things are so tough (Picture: BBC) Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) family was left in a panic in EastEnders today as she collapsed. The character was diagnosed with blood cancer earlier this year. A few weeks ago, when Denise became resistant to treatment, she had to be placed in a medically induced coma. After this, she learnt that a stem cell transplant could place her on the road to recovery. Her family got tested, but none of them were a match. Kim Fox’s (Tameka Empson) search for a distant relative led her to finding out that Denise has a half-brother, but Darnell’s (Christopher Colquhoun) test wasn’t a strong enough match either. Losing hope, Denise reached a devastating point earlier this week as she began researching what happens to your body when you stop chemotherapy. Fortunately, Denise changed her mind following a conversation with Ash Panesar (Sakira Vel). Ash was arguing with Suki prior to noticing that Denise needed her help (Picture: BBC) In today’s episode, Denise was getting ready to go to the hospital again. Outside, she was touched to see all of her family ready to say goodbye to her. While this was happening, Ash was arguing with her mum Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal). Their clash came to a sudden halt when they heard shouting in the distance. Ash rushed over to help Denise, who had collapsed on her way to the car. In the hospital, Ash confirmed to Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) that Denise was sleeping, and would probably begin her next round of chemotherapy once she’s woken up. As Ash left, Jack began talking about how mature Amy is now, and how she should’ve known about Darnell. Amy was drawn closer to Craig in today’s episode (Picture: BBC/Metro) When Amy refused to tell Jack who she’s been spending time with, she accused her dad of treating her like a child. Storming off, we later saw Amy getting into Craig Ingram’s (Matthew James Bailey) car. Amy is feeling isolated from her family right now, and believes that Craig cares about her.
