The long-running procedural is no stranger to cast arrivals and departures. Amplified by the fact that the firefighter drama is part of the One Chicago franchise on NBC, which also includes Chicago PD and Chicago Med, there have been several high-profile Chicago Fire exits over the years. The latest farewell, though, will not be entirely surprising for those following closely. Deadline reports that Mulroney, who plays Chief Dom Pascal, will be leaving and wrapping up his storyline early in Chicago Fire season 15. An exact departure date or episode was not shared. Mulroney, who is also a regular cast member on the Netflix soap The Hunting Wives, was absent for the second half of season 14. He returned for the Chicago Fire season 14 finale, partly to help Severide (Taylor Kinney) consider his career options. That conversation is cut short by a major fire, which could threaten the lives of Firehouse 51. Pascal is not among those who seem to be in danger when viewers last catch up with him. But in any case, the fallout from the finale will be addressed when Chicago Fire season 15 premieres October 7 at 9 PM ET on NBC. More to come...
