Derek Hough Reveals Who He Thinks Will Win ‘Dancing With the Stars’

We’re counting down to the final few weeks of Dancing With the Stars, and pretty much everyone left in the competition is a serious contender. Heading into “Disney Night,” we have Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov, Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold, Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach, Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson, Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy, Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa, Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas, and Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik.Honestly, we could see any of them taking home the Mirrorball Trophy. But apparently judge Derek Hough has his eye on one particular couple and thinks they’re most likely to win: Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold.Speaking to TV Insider, Derek said, “He could absolutely do it. Honestly, I personally think I believe he’ll be in the finale. I believe that.” He added that Connor and Rylee have “glow around” them and a “great partnership,” saying, “And that’s the thing, you could not have the right things technically. He did samba the other week, and that’s the hardest dance on the show. There’s more requirements in that, technically, than a salsa or jazz, but man, people love him. I love him. He’s such a good dude. We have the same friends, and he’s a good man.”Of course, dancing well and getting good scores is only half the battle. There’s also the audience vote, which Derek thinks is also a lock for “incredibly popular” Connor and Rylee. “I think people are rooting for him,” Derek said. “They want him to do well, so I think he has a fanbase that can push him all the way to win.”Connor and Rylee earned several 10s for their contemporary dance during “Horror Movie Night,” which was one of the best performances of the night.
