DepEd pilots active threat drills in schools to prevent incidents

The Department of Education (DepEd) has initiated nationwide pilot active threat simulation drills to bolster school security and evaluate emergency response strategies after a surge in school violence incidents. Over the past three weeks, 15 cases of school violence led to deaths and injuries, prompting urgent action. These drills are critical steps to prevent future incidents and ensure that schools can respond effectively to emergencies, safeguarding students and staff.
