Denzel Ward: I hope Aaron Rodgers keeps throwing at me

Published October 2, 2026 05:10 AM Browns cornerback Denzel Ward intercepted Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter of the Browns’ 27-24 win on Thursday night, and he said after the game that he loves it when Rodgers throws at him.Asked if Rodgers will stop throwing at him after Thursday night’s game, Ward answered, “I hope not. I hope he keeps throwing at me. Good things happen when he throws at me. I hope he keeps throwing at me.”At the time of Ward’s interception, the Steelers were winning 7-0 with 14 minutes left in the second quarter. By the time there was 1 minute left in the second quarter, the Browns were winning 21-7. Browns coach Todd Monken made a point of mentioning Ward’s interception as the play that turned the game around.“Big credit to Denzel Ward. He changed the momentum of the game. We just didn’t convert the first drive, and then we had a big play and stalled, and then Denzel flipped it and we go things going,” Monken said.Ward said he thinks the Browns are turning things around. “It felt good. It just shows the resilience of this team, this organization, and all the fans. It’s been a lot of up and downs, but we’re on a winning track right now, changing the organization right now, and we’re looking to stack one on top of the other,” Ward said on the Prime Video broadcast. How many more wins the Browns can stack remains to be seen, but right now they’re 3-1 and atop the AFC North.
