DENISE Van Outen has quit the official TOWIE podcast. The You Alright Hun? podcast was launched this year and saw narrator Denise, 52, host it as she was joined on it by the show’s stars. A source exclusively told The Sun: “Denise was great, but bosses wanted to go in a different direction. “Billie is perfect as she has loads of experience hosting podcasts herself and knows a lot of the Towie cast personally. “She hasn’t been on the show for a while though, so it able to stay objective. “She also has a huge fanbase,” the insider explained. Billie told the Sun: “I’m so excited to say I’m the brand new host of the Towie podcast You Alright Hun? “I’m taking over the reigns from the amazing Denise in the next few weeks and I can’t wait.” Most read in TV Billie was an original TOWIE cast member with her sister Sam Faiers Credit: Planet Photos She went on to have her own family reality show with husband Greg Shepherd Credit: ITV Billie, 36, was on TOWIE for six years, making cameo appearances in the first series in 2010 alongside her sister Sam Faiers. She was bumped up to a main cast member during series two and remained on the show until 2016. Billie starred on Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries for nine series, before taking part in Billie and Greg – The Family Diaries following her house renovations with her property developer hubby. She and husband Greg have three kids, Nelly, 12, Arthur Shepherd, nine, and Margot, three. Denise has been the narrator of TOWIE since the show first began airing and has been a staple of the programme for the past 16 years. At the beginning of each episode, Denise shares her iconic monologue ahead of the theme tune. The official TOWIE podcast was launched in April this year. Denise has hosted 11 episodes and was joined by two different guests each episode. Each week, she would get the gossip about what was going on in Essex as well as playing general knowledge quizzes with the cast. Speaking at the ITV reality showcase today, cast member Harry Derbidge said: “It is going to be so good to have Billie with us. “She loves TOWIE still and I think she will be a great host. She still watches it.” Meanwhile, Saffron Lempriere revealed that the podcast has ruffled some feathers between the cast. She divulged: “The podcast has ruffled feathers in the cast actually. “It has not gone down well with some of us. I did it with Bobby (Norris) and I want him back.” Comment now
