Democrat Gina Hinojosa leads Gov. Greg Abbott in early vote returns in key counties

Democrat Gina Hinojosa has taken an early lead over Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in several key Texas counties, showing strong support in major urban areas and North Texas suburbs. These early returns reflect votes from before Election Day and indicate a potential shift in voter sentiment. This early lead is significant as it could signal a challenging race for Abbott, who has enjoyed strong support in recent years. The final outcome will depend on the turnout and the results from Election Day, but Hinojosa's current edge highlights a possible tightening of the gubernatorial race.
