They include Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), which, as you will know by now, will see the first service to the ever-popular Italian city of Venice next summer. This new link means that the SkyTeam member plans a record 13 European routes from BOS during the peak of summer 2027. The development contributes to BOS being Delta's fast-growing hub across the North Atlantic, with 8% more flights planned. While Delta ordinarily flies from BOS to Tel Aviv, all flights are suspended, with no confirmed return. As such, the market is not considered further. Delta From Venice To Boston: A Summary Credit: Felix Tchvertkin | Shutterstock The addition of Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) to Delta's BOS network was unsurprising. In the 12 months to July 2026, booking data via OAG Traffic Analyzer shows that it had 46,000 round-trip indirect passengers. VCE was the largest unserved European market from BOS. Given the continued massive focus by North American carriers on Southern European leisure destinations, it seemed like an inevitable choice. Days BOS To VCE; Local Times VCE To BOS; Local Times Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays DL344: 7:40 PM-9:30 AM+1 (A330-300) DL345: 11:30 AM-2:40 PM (A330-300) Due to the tourist-driven nature of the market, the average fare is reasonable but not particularly high, which reflects lower premium demand. When all airlines, cabins, passengers, and months of the year are considered, it was $448 each way (excluding taxes, add-ons, and any fuel surcharge). In contrast, the average for John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to VCE was $605 each way (nonstop flights are also provided by Delta). It had a 36% higher fare but only covers 5% more distance. As these figures are based on year-round figures, both markets would have higher results in the peak summer, with the greatest demand and fares. Delta's 13 Routes From Boston To Europe The following data is for July 2027, and it's based on what's known as of October 2. As it could easily change, treat it as a simple snapshot of activity. A total of 13 daily departures are planned in this peak summer month. Compared to the same month in 2026, services have risen from 12 daily, which is up by 8% year-over-year. While VCE obviously contributed to this expansion, so did the frequency rise to Milan Malpensa, which has jumped from four weekly flights to a daily operation. Evidently, Delta is pleased with the performance. 19 passenger airlines are currently scheduled to operate between BOS and Europe next July. They'll collectively have 52 daily departures, which means that BOS will be the United States' fourth-largest airport for European services. JFK is obviously first (109 daily), followed by Newark (71) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD; 54). BOS may overtake ORD in time. Delta's Frequency In July 2027* From BOS To... It will have more flights than in any other month on record, helped by flying from Austin to the critical SkyTeam hub of Paris CDG. The airline's total offering will be up by nearly 2% compared to the prior high, which was set in July 2026. BOS will account for 13% of the airline's total frequency to Europe, which will be the largest share in July to date. BOS is now Delta's third-busiest hub for European services, beaten only by JFK (31 daily) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL; 23 daily). The Massachusetts airport overtook Detroit for the third spot in 2025.
