Police said Haddal is currently based in Canada.The five accused have been arrested, and police have recovered five weapons, including two foreign-made pistols, along with a stolen motorcycle that was allegedly to be used in the planned killing. The intended target was a man based in Bawana, who is allegedly a relative of Haddal, and police said he was targeted over a longstanding family rivalry.The case surfaced after a woman approached the police on September 4 and alleged that some men were carrying out a recce in a car to target her husband. Acting on the complaint, police laid a trap in the Poothkurth area on September 18 and intercepted two men.The two were identified as Rinku and Sumit, both residents of Panipat. Police said both have previous criminal cases against them. During the investigation, police found that the accused were allegedly acting on the instructions of Ishu, an IGNOU student who was in touch with Haddal. Police said the recce was allegedly carried out by Keshav and Sagar, who were allegedly in contact with Haddal through internet-based calls.According to police, the accused were also planning to rope in more people to carry out the murder. Police said the conspiracy was linked to a longstanding rivalry and a family dispute in the village, and that the intended target was reportedly Haddal's relative. Police said they have arrested all five accused and recovered the weapons and the stolen motorcycle allegedly meant for use in the crime. Further investigation is underway.- Ends
